The CBIZ Building is a brand new, 6-story, 156,700gsf Class A office building located in Independence. The Project has been developed by Welty Development and designed by Vocon. An extraordinary construction and design planning process helped facilitate a fast-paced construction schedule and tight coordination with sub-trades to avoid COVID-related material shortages. The site sits across the street from Top Golf, with easy access to Route 77 and 480, with amazing views of downtown Cleveland!

This hard hat tour will highlight this new 150,000 square foot, six floor, Class A office building designed to a Silver rating for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) and a building orientation designed to optimize energy efficiency - reduced heating and cooling, water use, and waste.

Learning Objectives:

Attendees will examine the overall vision for this public-private development in this area of the City, the role the new CBIZ office building plays in the vision, and how this project anchors additional development.

Attendees will explore a building presence that reflects the attributes and values of its tenants: reliable, trusted, established, forward-thinking and design aesthetic articulating a highly ordered bay structure juxtaposed with dynamic building features. Building interiors feature transparency, light and optimized views from within the building to the Cleveland skyline and surrounding natural features.

Attendees will consider and observe the building orientation to optimize energy performance, along with the integration of building systems and building envelope/materials that were designed to achieve a LEED Silver building.

Attendees will consider how the design team, developer, and contractor worked through the challenges of a fast-tracked project delivery and supply chain issues to deliver on overall schedule and budget.
