Fostering Productive Conflict in a Workplace

  • Thompson Hine-Lakeview Conference Room 127 Public Square Cleveland, OH, 44114 United States (map)

AIA and ULI Cleveland Chapters have partnered to bring to our members and the NE Ohio Community a one-of-a-kind Workshop with the Founder, CEO and C-Suite Executive Coach Kinetic Insights and Chair of Gestalt Institute of Cleveland Coaching Certification Program.

During an interactive process of learning, we will challenge participants to identify their own conflict style, to consider what socialization led to their style, and to try on seeing conflict as a way of learning and an opportunity to raise awareness.   We will also look at productive and unproductive conflict situations and how we can use the understanding of conflict styles to manage the conflict to reduce the volatility and escalation.  Participants will begin to see that conflict is not innately good or bad.  Participants will see that how we judge and react to conflict is grounded in our socialization.  And we can adjust our conflict socialization with knowledge and practice.

EVENT LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Attendees will be able to identify their own personal conflict style.

  2. Attendees will learn and discuss how to use their own conflict styles to create new awareness.

  3. Attendees will assess for themselves how their backgrounds, experiences, cultural upbringing, and personal identity have impacted their conflict styles.

  4. Attendees will determine how they want to show up differently in conflict situations going forward.
