Lunch & Learn: Construction Materials Testing, Field Activities

This course describes the primary types and benefits of construction materials testing and inspections including special inspections as may be required by the local jurisdiction.  Attendees will gain a general understanding of the role of the third party inspector and gain a general understanding of construction materials testing and inspection services that are provided on horizontal and vertical construction, such as soil density testing and use of soil-moisture optimum curve, concrete compressive strength, proof rolling, fire-proofing, and structural steel, among others.

  1. Attendees will be able to define the term Special Inspections.

  2. Attendees will know what Inspections and Tests are required.

  3. Attendees will learn what are the qualifications of a Special Inspector.

  4. Attendees will learn and understand the Special Inspections submittal process.
